Management Accountant

Assistant Management Accountant | circa £35,000 plus study support | Warrington

A well-established, growing engineering business is looking to appoint an Assistant Management Accountant to support its finance function during a period of continued growth.

This is a great opportunity for a part-qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA) or an experienced Assistant Accountant looking to step up into a more commercially focused role, with strong exposure to senior stakeholders and the opportunity to develop.

Working closely with the Divisional Finance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the production of accurate and timely financial information, while gaining exposure across the wider finance function.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts
• Supporting accruals, prepayments, and journal postings
• Performing balance sheet reconciliations
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
• Analysing financial data and providing meaningful commentary
• Working with operational teams to support cost control and decision-making
• Assisting with year-end audit and statutory reporting
• Supporting continuous process improvements across finance

For this Assistant Management Accountant role, you must be/have:

• Studying towards ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent), or qualified by experience
• Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant / Finance Analyst / similar role
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
• Confident communicator, able to work with non-finance stakeholders
• Proactive, with a willingness to learn and take ownership
