Resourcery Group is collaborating with a well-established multinational PLC business to recruit a dynamic and commercially aware Head of Credit and Risk.

 

This key leadership role will oversee credit risk and receivables strategy across the UK and Ireland, ensuring alignment between commercial performance and financial controls while driving best practices across multiple regions.

 

Key responsibilities include:


  • Providing strategic oversight of credit control functions across regional teams supporting operational efficiency and performance consistency.
  • Building a culture of accountability and collaboration within the credit teams, fostering continuous development and high engagement.
  • Assessing financial risk across a diverse customer portfolio, including large-scale contractors and major commercial clients.
  • The Head of Credit and Risk will establish, review, and manage customer credit limits in accordance with the company’s risk framework and appetite, partnering closely with sales and commercial leaders to balance risk exposure with revenue objectives.
  • This includes advising on credit terms, dispute resolution, and complex account strategies, as well as engaging in negotiations with high-value or high-risk customers when necessary.
  • The role also entails supporting client retention by aligning credit practices with wider service and relationship goals, maintaining end-to-end responsibility for the regional credit insurance program, and liaising directly with insurers and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate exposure reporting and timely applications.
  • Leading cross-functional discussions between finance, sales, and executive teams is essential to ensure credit performance supports commercial outcomes.
  • The Head of Credit and Risk will standardize and continuously enhance credit processes and frameworks across regions, chair regional credit forums, and collaborate with other business units where shared customer exposure or risk considerations exist.
  • Delivering insightful reporting and forecasting to regional finance leadership and senior management, while upholding strong governance by ensuring compliance with internal audit controls, financial regulations, and corporate frameworks, is also a critical aspect of the role.

 

Applicants should :


  • Possess experience of managing credit risk portfolios
  • Hold a relevant professional qualification (ACA, CICM, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Have at least 10 years' experience in managing complex credit operations
  • Be an accomplished team leader and senior cross-functional stakeholder manager
  • Be capable of building, managing and owning relationships with assurers and customers
