Risk and Controls Analyst | Liverpool | £40,000-45,000

We are working with a reputable and well known household brand to recruit a newly created role for a Risk and Controls Analyst.

In this role, you will play a key role in strengthening and developing the internal control environment and governance practices through design, implementation and monitoring of internal controls across the different business units.

In this role, you will:

• Support, implement and maintain the group's internal controls framework
• Assist in documentation and review of key financial and operational processes to ensure that control design is robust and aligned with risk appetite
• Perform periodic testing of controls, including walkthroughs and sample-based testing, to assess both design and operating effectiveness
• Tracking control deficiencies and support remediation plans with control owners
• Prepare internal reports on control performance and emerging risks for management and the audit committee
• Monitor and report on employee expenses, including PSA tracking and compliance
• Contribute to various improvement projects within group finance

To be successful in this role, you must have:

• Strong analytical flair and challenge effectively with critical thinking
• A strong work ethic, accountability and a proactive approach to problem solving
• Part qualified in CIMA/ACCA/ACA would be advatangeous (or the desire to study)
• Solid Excel skills
• Interest in process improvement and control design
• Strong organisational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
• Background in finance, internal/external audit, or a controls-related environment is preferred

The company is offering a £40,000-45,000 salary with a wide range of benefits on top.
