Resourcery Group are supporting a leading national Transport & Logistics business to recruit an experienced industry sector specialist into the role of Senior Finance Manager. Ideally situated for candidates in the Manchester and Cheshire areas, our client is an established brand in the Distribution and Supply Chain sector. Your role will be pivotal in supporting the Divisional Finance Director and Business Unit Director to deliver profitable growth, managing multiple competiting stakeholders and a team of accountants.

This is a varied role which will see the successful applicant for the role of Senior Finance Manager play a key role in improving performance through understanding the commercial drivers of the business and profitability and the impact of KPIs. As such, you and your team will need to analysis and interpret complex financial performance data and be capable of identifying business growth opportunities as well as overcoming challenges and risks. Given the Logistics sector focus, business is contract-led and as such your role will be pivotal in driving the profitable delivery of existing contracts but also in supporting the bid/tender process for new contracts. Customer profitability analysis and supporting the commercial teams is a key part of the day-to-day and applicants must be comfortable operating with non-finance stakeholders influencing and driving real change in the business through the provision of best in class management information. You will own the P&L and KPI data reviewing on a weekly basis, providing variance analysis and commentary.

The Senior Finance Manager also leads on the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts in conjunction with the BU Director and their senior management team. At times customer-facing, you will also be responsible for the Boards packs and must be comfortable operating with the most senior stakeholders in the business whilst retaining an approachable demeanour and mentoring mindset to aid/facilitate the development of the finance team you manage.

Applicants for the role should be:

  • CIMA, ACCA, ACA Qualified
  • Experienced within Logistics, Distribution,Transport, Supply Chain
  • A senior stakeholder manager and influencer, cross-functionally
  • A strong team leader and man manager
  • Possess a robust Financial Planning and Analysis background
