Resourcery Group are recruiting on behalf of a £multi-billion turnover, listed, US manufacturing giant with UK operations based across the North West. As part of a wider change programme our client are now looking to hire an experienced Senior Finance Manager - Operations responsible for multiple manufacturing sites across the UK.

Reporting to the CFO, the Senior Finance Manager - Operations will work very closely as a senior operational business partner to the UK Manufacturing Director, Site Operations Managers and senior Engineers to ensure (and support) operational delivery, efficiency and cost improvements/rationalisation. Managing 3 direct reports the Senior Finance Manager - Operations will take responsibility for all aspects of production across 2 sites to include Raw Material Costing, Production Costs and Capital Expenditure.

As is expected in such a senior role, the Senior Finance Manager - Operations will be focused on continuous improvement, driving and delivery of cost savings initiatives through to completion, capital expenditure (CAPEX), development of Authorisation For Expenditure in conjunction with the manufacturing teams, as well as control and challenge operational overhead spend.

The role works closely with the UK Manufacturing Director and as such you must be a capable senior stakeholder manager and influencer capable of delivering change and cost improvement/efficiencies through others. You will be focused on identifying areas of improvement and rationalisation. The operational business areas needs meaningful MI and to understand and interpret the financial performance of each UK manufacturing site identifying areas of growth, risk and opportunity. The business is US-owned and as such you must be capable of facing off to US Group stakeholders articulating clearly the delivery from UK business units. You will drive consistency of financial processes across each UK site and be responsible for the delivery of the annual budget and strategic planning to include the development of a monthly forecasting process for all operational costs. You will, as such, own the month end process and associated balance sheet activity including inventory and fixed assets, analysis and commentary to ensure site performance is understood and issues raised with relevant stakeholders to drive corrective actions.

This is a career-defining role in a US-owned, listed global business with responsibility for multiple sites. As such, applicants need to be able to demonstrate:

  • a current finance qualification - CIMA, ACCA, ACA
  • prior experience working in a US-backed business reporting under USGAAP or international business reporting under IFRS
  • experience of multi-currencies reporting
  • exceptional senior cross-functional stakeholder management experience and an abundance of EQ
  • prior experience working in Manufacturing, FMCG, Engineering, Aerospace, Automotive Chemicals or Pharmaceutical sectors
  • prior team management experience (preferably multi-site)
  • the ability to influence the C-suite and senior commercial and operational decisions.
