Job Description

Resourcery Group are working with an innovative company based near Chester to bring on board a qualified accountant to cover for the Finance Manager's maternity leave. This company don't stand still in what they do and always look to deliver value for money for their clients. They continually look to invest in their finance and IT capabilities as well as their people.

The role:

    • Managing a small team of accountants to produce timely and accurate reporting to deadlines
    • Production of month end management and financial accounts and associated commentaries
    • Group statutory reporting and associated technical analysis and interpretation e.g. new accounting standards
    • Production of VAT and Corporation Tax returns and associated expertise within the business
    • Focus on systems, processes and controls to ensure that risks are minimised and processes are scalable as the business continues to grow
    • Production of Group consolidated and individual statutory accounts and drafting of associated press releases, presentation materials, Annual Report, Audit Committee papers etc.
    • Liaison point with external auditors
    • Review and analysis of accounting regulation changes and preparation of technical papers to propose and support accounting treatments
    • Production of monthly management and financial accounts packs to include analysis and commentary on all areas of the P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash flow
    • Control and reporting of Capex spend
    • Ensure that all processes, procedures and controls have been applied, including the maintenance/development/improvement of internal controls reporting and all associated documentation
    • Ensure all Balance Sheet reconciliations are prepared, reviewed and any issues dealt with promptly

  • Maintenance and development of detailed cash flow forecasting, tied in with the quarterly re-forecasting process
  • Reporting and management of cash balances, including recommending taking mitigating actions as necessary
  • Bank covenant monitoring and reporting

The ideal candidate:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified accountant - QBE can not be consider on this occasion
  • Strong accounting and tax technical knowledge, including IFRS, UK GAAP, Corporation Tax, VAT and PAYE
  • Willing to commit to the full duration of the contract of 6-12 months
