Working closely as a key support to the Head of Finance, based in the UK head office of a global manufacturing business, you will act as the link between two key areas of the business - Commercial & Logistics. The dual focus of the role requires a commercial, and ideally qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA), with experience of working in a manufacturing environment. Starting with the production of the management accounts for these two areas you will then provide insightful commentary and analysis and through this drive and deliver real behavioural change.
From a commercial business channel perspective, you will influence business, customer and product profitability identifying key areas of risk, improvement and opportunity. KPI management and identifying performance drivers are essential. This is a P&L focused role and it is key you understand the commercial drivers of the channel to put forward relevant recommendations to drive margin improvement. Pricing, contract negotiation, bid and tender support and margin improvement plans are all areas of weekly involvement.
In addition, you will be required to split your time to work closely with the Head of Logistics driving operational efficiencies across the Group. With a focus on distribution and warehousing expenditure you will make recommendations to improve costs and performance KPIs. This business partnering with logistics is a new role within the business and as such you will be capable of building relationships from scratch.
Experience of working as part of a global group using large company systems such as SAP and SAP BW would be beneficial. It is anticipated that in the next 12-18 months this role could develop into a departmental head of role.
