Resourcery Group are working as a partner to a leading Business Services client, with offices across Manchester and Liverpool, who are looking to recruit a senior Business Analyst / Finance Business Partner for a busy and profitable division of the business.
The role is a critical one within what is 'the' major business unit within the organisation from both and revenue and profitability perspective. Working as the right hand to a non-finance senior stakeholder at a C-suite level the Finance Business Partner is expected to provide commercial decision making insight, support and advice on a daily basis. The role, whilst reporting direct to the CFO sits firmly in the business and has a strong dotted line to the senior executive team. As such gravitas, credibility, self-belief, strength in ones convictions and the ability to challenge, influence and drive the delivery of change are essential attributes.
Being a Business Services organisation means that there are B2B and B2C revenue streams and understanding the contributors to profit and drivers of the P&L are essential. You will be au fait with working in a similar sector such as Business Services, Professional Services, Consultancy, Legal Practice etc. The role requires a strong communicator who can articulate and lead on change. The successful applicant will possess a strong FP&A background with experience of budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, management reporting, KPIs, working capital management, profitability/trend/customer analysis, direct cost control, pricing, tender, contract experience. You will be the Finance function's key representative, information support and focal point for all the business unit's financial needs. As such, this is a critical and highly regarded role.
Given the requirements and focus stated thus far, you will need to possess strong commercial acumen, have experience on managing a P&L and driving improvements through cross-functional stakeholder influence. You will need to possess a degree of hands-on analytical and statistical experience capable of taking the outputs of finance and producing meaningful direction to non-finance stakeholders.
This is a stand alone role for a reason, you need to manage senior and often competing stakeholders and you need to engage with C-suite individuals on their level. You must possess gravitas, professional integrity and credibility gained from working in the sector or a closely related one.

- CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualified
- A proven Business Analyst or Finance Business Partner
- Worked in Business or Professional Services
- Possess strong communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills
- Be a strong analyst in their own right capable of producing models
- Locationally the role can be split between Manchester and Liverpool
