Job Description

Resourcery Group are working closely with a leading £multi-billion turnover B2C client near Liverpool to recruit a commercially-minded, communicative and conscientious Commercial Analyst capable of not just interacting with non-finance stakeholders but driving positive change as a result of a strong business partner mindset. Does this sound of interest? Then read on.

Our client is ideally looking for a halfway house between a Commercial Analyst and Finance Business Partner; a blend of hands-on inquisitive analyst and articulate business partner who understands the P&L impact of their findings who can communicate concisely to non-finance functional heads in a rapidly-changing business.

With a strong cost control bias the role's primary function as to act as a cost challenge to the business directing budget holders as to what they can and can't spend and why; explaining the consequences of continued bad practice. As such, the Commercial Analyst needs self-confidence and belief in their own ability to influence stakeholders above themselves in the organisational structure.

This is not a management accountants role. These are centralised elsewhere. The role of Commercial Analyst is to provide greater depth of understanding around spend and the cost base. To map trends, forecast accurately, focus on performance improvement, support budget production and manage initially a £100m cost base and latterly a £250m cost base.

If you possess the drive to become a key influencer in a large, complex and fast-paced organisation; to develop from analyst to true Finance Business Partner; possess strong analytical skills and an eye for detail, understanding the P&L impact of your findings and can show a business how to control a growing cost base effectively then this role could be for you.

Applicants should:

  • be CIMA, ACCA, ACA qualified or part-qualified
  • possess strong/advanced Excel experience, including modelling skills
  • be an excellent communicator, possess confidence in their ability and have conviction in decision making
  • be able to influence outside finance
  • wish to develop their career towards a Finance Business Partner in a large B2C business
