Accounts Payable Manager

Resourcery Group are recruiting for an experienced Accounts Payable person to join an established and growing business in Runcorn.

The business is undergoing an exciting period of transformation, establishing itself as an independent organisation and investing in new systems and processes.

This is a hands-on, autonomous role offering full ownership of the purchase ledger and cost control function, alongside the opportunity to influence processes and support a significant ERP transformation project.

In this role as Accounts Payable Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Take full ownership of the purchase ledger, including supplier invoices, subcontractor applications and direct costs.
• Oversee three-way matching, ensuring accurate processing and resolution of discrepancies.
• Manage supplier reconciliations, GRNI balances and complex payment queries.
• Work closely with commercial, operational and Quantity Surveying teams to resolve cost-related issues.
• Oversee CIS compliance, subcontractor retentions and supplier payment runs.
• Support month-end processes, ensuring accurate reporting of costs and liabilities.
• Play a key role in ERP implementation, data cleansing and process improvements.

The successful candidate for this Accounts Payable Manager role must have:

• Strong background in purchase ledger, accounts payable or cost control, ideally within construction or infrastructure.
• Excellent understanding of three-way matching, GRNI and supplier reconciliations.
• Knowledge of CIS, subcontractor payments, retentions and construction VAT requirements.
• Experience with ERP systems would be highly advantageous.
• Confident working autonomously and engaging with commercial and operational stakeholders.
