Finance Assistant (Temporary to Permanent Opportunity)

Location: Chester
Salary: £28,000 per annum (pro rata)
Contract: Minimum 4-week assignment with the potential to be extended or become permanent
Working Pattern: Full-time, office-based
Holiday: 25 days annual leave (pro rata) plus bank holidays

Our client is seeking a Finance Assistant to join their friendly and supportive finance team based in Chester. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain experience within a busy finance department, with the possibility of the role being extended or leading to a permanent position.

The Role

As Finance Assistant, you'll provide valuable support across both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the finance function.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Processing supplier invoices and ensuring timely payments
• Raising sales invoices and supporting the accounts receivable process
• Reconciling supplier and customer accounts
• Handling finance queries from suppliers and customers
• Maintaining accurate financial records
• Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc finance and administrative duties

About You

We're looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience in a finance or accounts administration role
• Has exposure to Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable
• Is organised with excellent attention to detail
• Has good communication skills and enjoys working as part of a team
• Is confident using Microsoft Excel and finance systems
• Can hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment
