Tax Manager

Are you an experienced Tax Assistant Manager or Tax Advisor ready to step into your first Tax Manager role? Or are you already an established Tax Manager looking for a fresh challenge within a large, purpose-driven organisation?

Resourcery Group is delighted to be partnering with a leading education institution in Preston to recruit a Tax Manager to join its Financial Accounting & Compliance team. Working within a well-established finance function of around 80 professionals, you'll become the organisation's in-house tax expert, providing strategic advice across a diverse and complex group of activities.

This is a broad and highly visible role where you'll lead on all aspects of UK taxation, including VAT, partial exemption, Corporation Tax, Gift Aid and wider tax compliance, while partnering with senior stakeholders and external advisers to support key business decisions and manage tax risk.

What you'll be doing:

• Acting as the organisation's internal tax specialist and key contact with HMRC.
• Managing VAT, Corporation Tax and Gift Aid compliance and reporting.
• Providing commercially focused tax advice on strategic projects and new initiatives.
• Developing robust tax policies, processes and controls.
• Working closely with external tax advisers on specialist matters.
• Delivering guidance and training to colleagues across the wider business.

About you:

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CTA qualified.
• Strong knowledge of UK taxation, particularly VAT and partial exemption.
• Experience managing tax compliance and advising stakeholders.
• Confident in building relationships across finance and the wider organisation.
• Looking to make an impact in a varied, autonomous role.
