Tax Manager

Tax Manager | Runcorn | £55,000 - £65,000

An opportunity for a CTA Qualified (ACA/ACCA considered with relevant experience) to join a multi-national manufacturing business in a key role for their core finance team.

Reporting in to the Financial Controller, you will take the lead in overseeing Direct, Indirect and Tax Compliance for the UK and Ireland entities.

Main duties will include;

• Support external tax advisors with the preparation and submission of Corporation Tax computations and returns for the UK and Ireland.
• Prepare annual Transfer Pricing documentation, including the local file, and support Pillar Two reporting requirements.
• Maintain monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations across tax areas.
• Manage the Group Payment Arrangement and ensure timely Quarterly Instalment Payments.
• Complete the annual PSA return and oversee Plastic Packaging Tax reporting and submissions.
• Ensure timely filing of SAO certificates and manage key compliance processes, including CCO and the Tax Risk Register.
• Support the preparation of quarterly reporting packs and maintain tax, customs, and compliance process documentation.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns for the UK and Ireland, including partial exemption calculations, and process monthly payments on account.
• Submit Intrastat returns, ensuring accurate commodity codes and supporting documentation.
• Review and maintain tax-related master data and monitor for potential VAT errors.
• Provide support on statistical reporting, IR35 reviews, and ad hoc customs and tax matters, while managing relationships with relevant stakeholders.

Candidate profile;

• CTA Qualified preferred
• Significant experience within a tax specialism
• Excellent communication skills – this role will allow some to add significant influence to internal stakeholders
• Excellent Excel and other reporting tools
• High level of attention to detail
