Assistant Accountant

Assistant Accountant | £30,000-34,000 | Liverpool | Permanent, hybrid

We’re working with a growing, forward-thinking business in Liverpool that is looking to add an Assistant Accountant to its finance team. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone looking to build on their existing experience in a supportive environment that genuinely invests in development.

You’ll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day finance function, getting exposure across both transactional and month-end accounting activities.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing purchase ledger processes, including invoice processing, coding and supplier queries
• Completing supplier statement reconciliations
• Supporting sales ledger, including invoicing and query resolution
• Assisting with credit control activities
• Performing daily bank reconciliations
• Assisting with month end tasks such as accruals and prepayments, reconciliations and reporting
• Overseeing expenses management

For this Assistant Accountant role, you must have:

• Previous experience in a finance role (Accounts Assistant / Assistant Accountant level)
• Comfortable working across both AP and AR
• Strong Excel skills
• Highly organised with good attention to detail
• Confident communicator who can build relationships internally and externally
• Able to work both independently and as part of a team
