Payroll Clerk
We’re supporting a well-established Not for Profit organisation based in Liverpool to recruit a Payroll Officer to join their friendly and supportive finance team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with payroll experience who’s looking to develop their career within a larger finance function, with long-term opportunities to upskill, gain further qualifications and explore internal progression routes.
The Role
Working closely with the Payroll & Pensions Manager, the Payroll Officer will help deliver a professional, accurate and compliant payroll service.
Key responsibilities include:
Processing monthly payroll inputs, starters and leavers
Calculating statutory payments (SMP, SSP etc.)
Managing pension contributions and payroll deductions (AEOs, student loans etc.)
Handling payroll queries from employees and managers
Supporting reconciliations and month-end processes
Maintaining accurate payroll records and ensuring compliance with legislation
You’ll work collaboratively with HR and Finance to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time.
About You
Previous experience within a payroll role
Experience using computerised payroll systems
Strong Excel and MS Office skills
Good understanding of statutory payments and payroll legislation
Accurate, organised and able to work to deadlines
What’s on Offer
Salary £27,000
Hybrid working – average 1 day per week onsite in Liverpool
Option to work a 9-day fortnight
