9-Month Fixed-Term Contract (Interim)

We’re working with an award-winning, Manchester based,  financial services business with a genuinely great culture. 

Due to a period of change, the Finance & Insight team is seeking an Interim Management Accountant to provide hands-on support across day-to-day accounting and monthly reporting. This is a key operational role, reporting directly to the Finance Manager, and would suit someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves while working in a collaborative, supportive environment.

The Role

As Interim Management Accountant, you will be responsible for delivering accurate, timely financial information and supporting strong financial control across the business. Key responsibilities include:

Preparing monthly management accounts with clear analysis and insightful commentary

• Preparing monthly management accounts with analysis and full commentary

  Maintaining accurate and complete financial records, ensuring transactions are correctly recorded within the accounting system

• 
  

  Balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving variances promptly

• 
  

  Supporting the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasting and re-forecasting cycles

• 
  

  Supporting income reconciliation processes and ensuring robust controls over income recognition

• 
  

  Managing risk and compliance activities, including VAT returns, regulatory reporting, and payroll review

• 
  

  Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, legal requirements, and internal policies

• 
  

  Supporting the annual audit and liaising with internal and external stakeholders

• 
  

  Identifying and implementing improvements to financial processes, controls, and reporting

• 
  

  Contributing to ad-hoc projects and continuous improvement initiatives as the business evolves

About You

• 
  

  Qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA / ICAEW)

• 
  

  Strong management accounting and balance sheet experience

• 
  

  Comfortable in a hands-on, operational interim role

• 
  

  Financial services experience is desirable but not essential

• 
  

  Proactive, detail-focused, and able to hit the ground running
