Assistant Accountant

Assistant Financial Accountant | £36,000  |  Liverpool |  Permanent

We are working with a well established housing association in Liverpool to recruit an Assistant Financial Accountant to join a thriving team, this is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to develop and progress as part of a proud and dynamic organisation.

Responsibilities

• Support the daily management of treasury activities, including banking operations and maintenance of a rolling cashflow forecast
• Carry out month-end processes, including reconciliation of control accounts and review of balance sheet positions
• Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register, including capital additions, disposals and depreciation calculations
• Prepare and submit required regulatory and statutory returns (e.g. quarterly surveys and government/statistical reporting)
• Maintain accurate internal records and support the effectiveness of internal controls and governance processes
• Contribute to the preparation and review of internal reports and supporting documentation

About you

• Proven experience in financial accounting, including the management and accounting treatment of fixed assets
• Experience in the preparation of financial statements and supporting external audit processes
• Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload effectively, manage time efficiently, and handle competing deadlines
• Strong experience in analysing, interpreting, and presenting financial information
