Finance Business Partner  |  Manchester  | Up to 40K  |  Hybrid Working

We are partnering with a social housing organisation in Greater Manchester to recruit a Finance Business Partner to work alongside the Senior Leadership Team to streamline the finance function and efficiently support the objectives of the organisation.

 

Responsibilities


  • Act as a trusted Finance Business Partner, providing clear financial advice and insight to operational teams and senior stakeholders to support informed decision-making.
  • Produce and present meaningful financial analysis, commentary, and forecasts to explain performance, variances, and value for money to non-financial colleagues.
  • Support budget holders with budget setting, monitoring, and reforecasting, attending management forums to communicate financial performance.
  • Monitor and review financial performance across assigned service areas, translating complex data into actionable insight.
  • Maintain financial integrity through balance sheet reconciliations, accurate accruals and prepayments, and adherence to accounting policies.
  • Oversee expenditure monitoring, including appropriate cost allocation and compliance-related spend.
  • Ensure robust financial controls, timely reporting, and alignment with internal governance and delegations.
  • Contribute to financial planning, modelling, and continuous improvement initiatives, including system enhancements, efficiency gains, and cost-saving opportunities.

 

About you


  • Part-qualified or qualified finance professional (or equivalent experience) with a strong grounding in financial accounting, reporting cycles, and governance.
  • Experience working within the social housing sector 
  • Proven ability to analyse complex financial information and present clear, high-quality insight and advice to a range of non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong technical and systems capability, including Excel and standard reporting tools, alongside a solid understanding of financial controls and processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in finance business partnering, working collaboratively across teams, managing priorities effectively, and maintaining a commitment to continuous professional development
