Assistant Accountant

Service Charge Analyst  | Temporary Contract | Remote/Liverpool |  Upto £43K

The Service Charge Analyst is responsible for managing the accounting and budgeting processes related to service charges, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. This role plays a key part in setting budgets, issuing service charge notices, and supporting effective income management across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain accurate service charge budgets in collaboration with budget holders and operational teams.
• Ensure service charge data is correctly reflected in the organization’s overall budget and financial reporting.
• Support the preparation and distribution of annual service charge notices and related customer communications.
• Handle customer queries regarding service charge schedules and provide supporting documentation when required.
• Maintain accurate records for leaseholder accounts, sinking funds, and other service charge-related reserves.
• Prepare information for monthly accruals, reconciliations, and financial close processes.
• Review allocations of pooled service charges across schemes and support preparation of related statutory accounts.
• Collaborate with finance, income, and operational teams to ensure effective financial control and transparency.
• Contribute to continuous improvement within the finance function and support wider team objectives.

About you

• Experienced in service charge management, with a solid understanding of financial and income processes.
• Highly skilled in Excel, with the ability to analyse complex data and produce clear, accurate reports.
• Analytical, detail-focused, and collaborative, with strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
