HR Manager
I am supporting a highly reputable education provider based in the North Liverpool area, which is seeking to appoint a new HR Manager. This is a newly created and pivotal role, reporting directly to the CEO, and offers the opportunity to bring HR fully in-house, shape strategy, and drive meaningful change across the organisation.
This role will suit an experienced HR professional who is currently working, or has previously worked, within an education environment and understands the operational and regulatory complexities of the sector.
The Role
As HR Manager, you will lead the HR function end-to-end, managing a small but highly effective team and acting as a trusted advisor to senior leadership. You will play a key role in organisational strategy, workforce planning, and cultural development, ensuring HR supports both educational outcomes and long-term sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and deliver the full HR lifecycle across the organisation
Act as a strategic partner to the CEO and senior leadership team
Bring HR in-house, reviewing and implementing robust HR policies, processes and frameworks
Manage employee relations matters, including disciplinaries, grievances, absence management and performance
Support recruitment, onboarding and retention of teaching and support staff
Advise on safeguarding, compliance and employment legislation relevant to the education sector
Lead on learning & development, succession planning and workforce capability
Support organisational change initiatives and cultural development
Manage and develop a small HR team, ensuring a high-quality service delivery
About You
Proven HR management experience within an education setting (school, college or wider education provider)
Strong generalist HR skillset with both operational and strategic capability
Confident advising senior leaders and influencing decision-making
Experience managing HR teams and driving service improvement
CIPD Level 5 minimum (Level 7 desirable)
Hands-on, pragmatic and comfortable operating in a site-based environment
