I am proud to be once again partnering with an excellent organisation based in the Preston area. This is a newly created role, introduced to strengthen costing, modelling and analytical capability — offering an exciting opportunity to add real value and grow your career long term.

This role will suit a Management Accountant with strong Excel modelling skills and a passion for analysing cost drivers, building robust models, and turning data into insight for senior decision-makers.

The Opportunity


You will lead the development of a new costing model, using advanced Excel to accurately allocate costs and resources, support strategic decisions, and improve financial understanding across the organisation. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders and play a visible role within a growing FP&A function.

Key Responsibilities




  • Design, build and develop complex Excel-based costing models


  • Analyse cost drivers and model financial impacts of key assumptions


  • Produce clear, insightful analysis highlighting risks and opportunities


  • Support business cases, forecasts and budget cycles


  • Present financial insights to senior non-finance stakeholders


  • Contribute to wider FP&A and management accounting activity during peak periods


  • Continuously improve processes, documentation and controls


Skills & Experience Required




  • Strong experience building costing or financial models in Excel


  • Advanced spreadsheet and analytical skills


  • Background in management accounting, forecasting and analysis


  • Ability to translate complex financial data into clear insight


  • Experience supporting business cases and decision-making


  • AAT Level 4 (or equivalent) and studying towards a professional qualification (ACCA / CIMA / ACA / CIPFA)
