Management Accountant

I am pleased to be partnering once again with an excellent organisation based in the Preston area, who have created a newly formed Management Accountant role to strengthen its analytical and forecasting capability.

This is a standout opportunity for a commercially minded accountant with strong Excel modelling skills who enjoys working with complex data, building forecasts, and delivering insight that drives decision-making.

The Role

You’ll take ownership of Excel-based income models, budgets and forecasts, producing clear variance analysis and meaningful insight for senior stakeholders. The role has a strong analytical focus and offers genuine scope to influence, improve processes, and develop long-term.

Key Focus Areas

• 
  

  Advanced Excel financial modelling (budgeting, forecasting, multi-year models)

• 
  

  Production of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts

• 
  

  Clear, concise variance and trend analysis

• 
  

  Development and improvement of forecasting and reporting processes

• 
  

  Supporting monthly management accounts and planning cycles

• 
  

  Translating financial data into insight for non-finance stakeholders

What You’ll Bring

• 
  

  Strong experience in management accounting, budgeting and forecasting

• 
  

  Advanced Excel skills with confidence handling complex spreadsheets

• 
  

  Analytical mindset with the ability to challenge and interpret data

• 
  

  Strong communication skills and stakeholder engagement experience

• 
  

  AAT Level 4 (or equivalent) and studying towards a professional qualification (ACCA / CIMA / ACA / CIPFA)
