About the Company

Resourcery Group are supporting a well-established, market-leading business to recruit a talented Financial Controller to join their high-performing finance team. With a strong reputation for innovation, quality, and service excellence, this organisation continues to grow and evolve within a fast-paced, dynamic market.  You’ll be based at their modern head office in Cheshire, working closely with the Finance Director and senior leadership team to drive financial performance and continuous improvement across the business.

The Role

This is a pivotal role overseeing all aspects of the finance function — from statutory reporting and compliance to strategic financial planning and systems improvement. You’ll lead a small, skilled team and play a key role in supporting decision-making through accurate, insightful reporting and analysis.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the day-to-day running of the finance team (4 direct reports)
  • Managing the preparation of monthly management accounts, forecasts, budgets and year-end reporting
  • Acting as the key contact for external auditors and tax advisers
  • Ensuring compliance with IFRS, UK GAAP, and other regulatory reporting requirements
  • Leading improvements to financial systems, reporting processes, and internal controls
  • Overseeing cashflow forecasting, treasury management and working capital
  • Providing commercial insight to senior leadership to inform key business decisions
  • Coaching and developing team members to maximise performance

About You

We’re looking for a hands-on and commercially astute finance professional who can combine strong technical knowledge with strategic thinking and leadership capability.

You’ll bring:

  • Full professional qualification (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
  • Several years’ post-qualification experience in industry (manufacturing, distribution, or FMCG preferred)
  • A proactive and analytical approach with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong leadership and team development skills
  • Advanced Excel skills and a passion for process improvement
  • The confidence to challenge, influence, and collaborate across departments

Why Apply?

This is an excellent career opportunity to join a respected and growing organisation with strong values and a genuine commitment to developing its people. You’ll have the autonomy to make a tangible impact, shape financial strategy, and contribute to the ongoing success of the business.
