Senior Management Accountant | Runcorn | £60,000 – £65,000

An opportunity to join a large international business with an excellent local reputation, this role is highly visible within the organisation and is ideally suited to a Qualified (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) Accountant with 3-5 years post qualified experience, high level of attention to detail along with a strong commercial acumen.

Main duties include;


  • Lead end-to-end financial reporting and period-end processes for key commercial business areas
  • Deliver comprehensive variance analysis, providing meaningful insight into performance drivers across sales, margin, and costs.
  • Manage and own the full KPI and performance reporting cycle (monthly, quarterly, annual), integrating financial and operational metrics.
  • Partner with Finance leadership and business stakeholders to drive robust forecasting, budgeting, and long-term strategic planning.
  • Provide high-quality, ad hoc financial analysis to support commercial decision-making and improve financial outcomes.
  • Maintain strong financial governance across income recognition, invoicing, third-party billing, and revenue assurance processes.
  • Ensure accurate and timely management of balance sheet items including stock, debtors, rebates, accruals, and intercompany transactions.
  • Lead external audit preparation and coordination for assigned business units, ensuring compliance with audit and control requirements.
  • Deliver continuous improvements in financial processes and controls, strengthening the overall financial control environment.
  • Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders, influencing strategic outcomes.
  • Supervise and develop a small finance team, providing coaching, support, and alignment with business and personal development goals.
  • Apply advanced financial modelling skills across P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow to support planning and scenario analysis.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and business partnering capabilities, with the confidence to challenge and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Ensure alignment of financial outputs with wider business strategy and performance targets.
  • Utilise advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; experience with SAP or equivalent ERP systems is desirable.

Candidate profile;


  • Qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Prior ERP system experience i.e SAP
  • Excellent excel and modelling skills
  • Proven background within management accounts – large company preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
