A global manufacturing business in South Liverpool is looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join their team, initially on a 6-month fixed-term contract. The role has been created due to a backlog of supplier invoices which they need some help on over the next 6 months and could possibly become a permanent role at more of a senior level, so it is worth stepping into.

Duties & Responsibilities will include:

  • Process a backlog of supplier invoices
  • Reduce the backlog to ensure service level agreements are complied with
  • Get authorisation for supplier invoices from the relevant internal stakeholder
  • Ensure all supplier statements are fully reconciled prior to month-end close
  • Prepare supplier payment report for review
  • Process supplier payments 
  • Resolve supplier invoice queries
Skills & Experience Required: 

  • Up to date and relevant accounts payable (purchase ledger) experience
  • A problem solver
  • Attention to detail
  • Highly numerate and accurate
  • Good IT Skills, familiar with ERP Software and Microsoft Excel
  • Able to start immediately or on a relatively short notice period
  • Can commit to a minimum of 6 months’ work
As Accounts Payable Clerk you will work within a small accounts payable team, be a key member of that team and help to resolve a backlog. You will use your knowledge and experience to help not only the team get back on track but ensure supplier invoices get paid and queries are resolved in a timely manner. You will feel valued by the team, and both internal and external stakeholders as you will make a real difference to them. You will have long-term work for the next 6 months and there is a possibility that a more senior Accounts Payable Clerk role could happen further down the line, which gives you everything to work towards. 

You will receive a competitive salary up to just under £24,500 and benefits include: 24 days holiday, statutory pension, and an attendance allowance. Salary and benefits will be pro-rata to reflect the fixed-term contract of a period of 6 months. This is a full-time role worked Monday to Friday for 37.5 hours per week, this includes a half day up to 12pm on Fridays.
