Accounts Payable Clerk

A large, fast paced business based on the outskirts of Warrington is looking for an experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their finance team. As Purchase Ledger Clerk you will work as part of a team and be responsible for the end-to-end process of purchase ledger.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Processing supplier invoices
  • Matching, batching, and coding supplier invoices
  • Gaining supplier invoice payment approval from internal stakeholders
  • Resolving supplier queries
  • Reconciling supplier statements 
  • Building good relationships with suppliers
  • Posting and monitoring petty cash and processing employee expenses
  • Preparing supplier payments
  • Processing BACS payments to suppliers
  • Supporting with the month-end purchase ledger close
Skills & Experience Required:

  • Up to date and relevant experience of working in a purchase ledger role
  • High degree of numeracy and accuracy
  • Experience of accounting software, ideally Sage 200 but not essential
  • Experience of Microsoft Excel to reconcile supplier statements
  • Ideally have experience of converting PDF documents
  • AAT desirable, not essential
As Purchase Ledger Clerk you will enjoy working in an end-to-end role. You will have autonomy and look after your own ledger which will allow you to build good relationships with your suppliers. You will work with a very supportive and friendly purchase ledger team and enjoy working in a nice and bright environment too.

Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary up to £24,000 depending on experience
  • up to 25 days holiday + bank holidays
  • Auto-enrolment pension scheme
  • Hours - 8:30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday (2.5 hours flexibility either side)
  • 1 day working from home, 4 days working from the office
  • Parking
  • Accessible from Warrington, Newton-le-Willows, Golborne, St Helens, and Wigan
