Resourcery Group work with a very wide range of businesses across the UK; from owner-managed SMEs and private equity-backed growth businesses to large corporate listed PLCs.  We have recently been briefed on a role at the latter, a UK subsidiary of a listed US manufacturing business.  The organisation is one we have a long-standing relationship with  and, as such, feel confident in saying that it is one of the best organisations to work for in the region - recognition, development and progression are all central to the businesses people culture.  Working in partnership with a tenured Financial Controller, you will work alongside a technically-orientated Finance Manager acting as a support and undetaking peer-to-peer reviews.  This role is a commercil finance position.  The internal role title doesn't necessarily reflect the requirements of the role and as such we are approaching the market using a title that is more reflective of the skill set required:  FInance Business Partner.

Whilst this is not an overtly technical position, applicants who have come from a techanical or practice background and hold an ACA or ACCA qualification would be interesting to the client.  This is not to say CIMA qualified candidates will not be considered.  On the contrary, our client is keen to consider those commercial finance candidates who have knowledge and experience working as part of a global US-owned business and have worked with large compnay systems such as SAP or Oracle and are au fait with working in a Sarbannes Oxley compliant environment.  A working knowledge of USGAAP versus UKGAAP would be helpful but not essential.

The role works closely with the UK senior leadership team, interacting closely with core finance, the US corporate team and the FP&A function. As a business partner you will support the orhanisation with robust financial analysis and challenge.  Managing one direct report you will provide insightful management reporting, drive the enhanced commercial decision making through the provision of high quality MI.  You will expected to identify areas for improvement and drive/ implement change, as well as be able to demonstrate collaboration and positive behaviour across teams and with key stakeholders.

This is a business critical role, commercially-orientated and SLT-facing.  The successful applicant will gain great exposure to a broad range of key decision makers both in the UK and the US and from here be able to build a long-term career path in the business.

In summary, applicants should:

  • Be ACA/ACCA or CIMA qualified
  • Have experience of working in a large corporate environment
  • Be a proven commercial analyst and business partner
  • Be capable of working with a broad range of stakeholders both within and outside finance and the UK
  •  Ideally have a working knowledge of USGAAP, SOX and have used Oracle or a similar system
  • Be commercially astute and career-minded
