Resourcery Group are working on an exclusive assignment with one of the UK's most forward looking and exciting Financial Services start-ups. A true disruptor in their field and a future market leader, the opportunity now exists for an experienced Financial Services Financial Controller to join the business and drive a change agenda.
Based in the North West, this fintech start-up has embarked on an exciting journey of growth and development. The business is still in the embryonic stages of it's life cycle but has secured significant external investment and as such is driving growth hard. As such, the day-to-day work environment is varied, rapidly changing, entrepreneurial, challenging, exciting and full of never before seen hurdles that need vaulting.
As Financial Controller, you will work as a key tenant in a small but vastly experienced crack team of Financial Services and Technology experts in setting up and delivering an exciting new proposition. Although small, your team is more than capable but the limited headcount requires as such a formidable, hands-on leader to set the pace, lead by example and role their sleeves up. The Financial Controller will work in tandem with a talented and experienced Finance Director who is an expert in his field to deliver an industry-disrupting Operating Model. Daily exposure to the CEO, FD and senior Board members will be the norm and as such the Financial Controller must possess the gravitas, self-awareness, belief and emotional intelligence to face-off to the most senior and experienced stakeholders in the business. In a consumption-led, consulting model, you will be working in a role with few fixed boundaries or silo-ed mindsets and must therefore be able to work with a degree of ambiguity around your role definitions. You must be able to self-start as there will be no room for idle time.
The business is regulated by the PRA and FCA and as such you will be responsible for managing the external reporting and statutory obligations of the business. ICAAP, Pillar 3 disclosures, CoRep, FinRep, IFRS 9 will all be areas you, as Financial Controller, will be expected to take hands-on ownership of. As such, applicants must be ACA qualified, possess experience in Financial Services and have worked in a technical, balance sheet focused role were you manage the audit process and committe, deliver the statutory accounts, produce regulatory reports etc. That said, the role is much more expansive than this.
The entrepreneurial nature of the business, and given the infancy of the proposition, means that away from the statutory obligations you must fulfil, you will also gain a wide exposure to commercial finance and be involved in a wide variety of projects spanning business partnering, pricing, new product evaluation, trend and market analysis, competitor and risk analysis, the list is expansive.
This is a career defining opportunity to be part of a truly special business that will furnish you with a much sought after digital, fintech and start-up skill set.
So if you:
- are ACA qualified
- have worked in Financial Services, Digital, Technology, eCommerce
- have an understanding of the regulatory obligations under the PRA/FCA
- wish to work in a rapidly evolving fintech start-up with limited boundaries and scope of the role you undertake
- can navigate you way around ICAAP, IFRS 9 etc
- can build and develop a best in class finance team
......... then I want to hear from you.
