Finance Manager

£60k plus bonus

 

We are recruiting for a Finance Manager role for a recently acquired subsidiary into the wider Group. This business is within the food sector so any knowledge of FMCG would be advantageous but not essential. This role will be reporting into the Finance Director but based within the main Group finance team at their site in Cheshire, which comprises a team of six. This role is an all-round 'hands on' SME Finance Manager and you will be responsible for the following duties:

 


  • Accounts to trial balance, complete financial reports, lead the month-end closing process
  • Full preparation of the management accounts, accruals, prepayments, variance analysis to P&L
  • Develop and implement plans for budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
  • Maintain and update the fixed asset register
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Daily reporting
  • Analysing targets
  • Meeting with department heads
  • Managing and coordinating monthly reporting, budgeting and reforecast processes
  • Providing back office services such as accounts payable, collection and payroll
  • Monitoring cash flow
  • Providing insights on the financial situation of the organisation
  • Ensuring the business meets all its statutory and compliance obligations, including statutory accounting and tax issues
  • Keeping track of market trends
  • Looking for cost-reduction opportunities
  • Developing relationships with external contacts such as auditors, solicitors and HM Revenue & Customs

 

Skills/Experience

 


  • Qualified Accountant or Qualified by Experience
  • Must be a 'Hands on' Finance Manager happy to get stuck in, would suit someone from an SME background
  • Excellent attention to detail is key and the ability to work to set deadlines under pressure at busier times of the month
  • Advanced Excel skills are essential with the desire to make system and process improvements  here necessary
  • Work as part of a team - whilst this role is working on a separate subsidiary you may be required to get involved in other areas of the Group business as required by the FD
  • Pro-active and motivated attitude – essential
